Our
research is focused on discovering the patterns that determine
microbial diversity and productivity in the natural environment. We
conduct our studies in extreme environments because these systems
enable us to address fundamental questions about evolution and ecology.
Currently, we are working on two projects, one in the thermal springs
of Yellowstone National Park, and the other in the McMurdo Dry Valleys
of Antarctica.
