I am currently a sophomore majoring in
biology with a minor in chemistry. I have just been accepted into
the IMSD research program and I am starting a project involving
microbial diversity and CO2 fixation pathways. I love biology and
my interests run the gamut from genetics to wildlife
conservation. Once I graduate from UNM, I plan to attend graduate
school and enter a biomedical field. I also work for the Forest
Service, where I give nature walks and talks about raptor species in
the Sandia Mountains. School and work aside, I enjoy hiking,
hunting, reading, and just hanging out with friends. Tina and the IMSD
program have allowed me to apply what I learn in the classroom and
explore biology, which has opened the world of research to
me.
